Superman: The Poster

Well I had promised a T-shirt here, but turns out it looks better as a poster. Like I said earlier, it revolved around the concept of how superman could endorse solar energy. The type is constructed by using the dot grid as a baseline. The idea was to make it look like the Vegas lights which act like pixels to create various images. Here is the higher resolution of the poster. Feel free to download and play around.

Peter Bilak at NID

As the posters suggest, Peter Bilak would be coming to NID soon as part of RGB which is an annual students' fest celebrated at the National Institute of Design. My friends who are co-ordinating the event asked me to make a poster for the lecture. I already had an idea in my mind where I would use Peter Bilak's image and then play with grids. In the mail I received from Peter Bilak, for the image, he said he would prefer a typographic poster instead. Hence I felt obliged :)

She wrote it in RED

My friend in Film and Video Communication recently finished his fiction film, for which he asked me to design the posters and CD cover jacket. His film revolves around a photographer, the protagonist of this film, who faces a series of uncanny events in a strange town.

I have given him these two as options, he will pick the one that will be sent to film festivals.
I will upload more of this soon :)

Typoster #1: Poetica

I am updating my blog after a really long time. I needed a break from my project documentation which is taking me ages to complete. Apart from watching movies and lazing around at home, I indulged in activities that involved me staring at Font Book for quite some time. So here is what I came up with. This is first of the series, hopefully. I am planning to screen print this one on treated parchment paper. Lets see if that is possible, because that will require some serious work convincing my coordinator.

Cinema+Chai > Love

I have known lalu ever since I joined NID. The 22yr old at the 'chai-gate' has always been a good friend. Rudro told me lalu is making a film, and that he will be documenting the process as a part of his documentary course, for which I will have to make a poster. Here is the final outcome. The poster was directed by lalu. So was the type selection :) MonoType Devnagri.
